I started volunteering at Women Helping Women in March 2016 and I have attended health and community fairs and provided information and resources. I did data entry from the hotline and hospital outcome indicator documents into the computer. I have also shadowed at preventive education classes at different high schools. I also help as a Integration Specialist by helping the Development Director and CEO with additional administrative needs.
Women Helping Women is an organization focused on supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. They provide a 24 hour hotline at 513-381-5610 and offer crisis intervention, support groups, court and hospital accompaniment, and prevention education.
I received a 40 hour training where I learned about Women Helping Women’s organization and the services they give to the community. I also learned more about sexual assault and domestic violence along with the cultural impact of sexual assault, legal issues, court and health processes, and more.
